Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing

Calcium Alginate Dressing are versatile wound care products derived from seaweed. They are highly absorbent and capable of managing moderate to heavy wound exudate, making them particularly suitable for wounds with high levels of drainage. When in contact with wound fluid, calcium alginate dressings form a gel like consistency, creating a moist environment that supports the body’s natural healing processes. This gel also helps to keep the wound bed hydrated and promotes the removal of necrotic tissue, facilitating wound debridement. Calcium alginate dressings are biodegradable and conformable, allowing for easy application to irregular wound shapes and minimizing discomfort during wear.

Indications:

May be used as a primary wound dressing for moderate to highly exuding wounds, such as: pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, donor sites, lacerations and abrasions. May be used under compression bandages. May be used to fill or pack wounds.
